I let my partner talk me into going to Newcastle on business with him. I imagined myself sitting in a nice room looking out over dense industry and seeing a polluted skyline. At the entrance to Newcastle harbor is the Nobbys Lighthouse. Take a picnic to some of the parklands by the harbor. There is so much more than you would expect to find.
